Birth of Death It was cold and dark. The sensations were not enough in themselves to awaken the lump of flesh and bone that had once been a man, but the agony of Life that had been bestowed once again upon him was. He was being born - a man in his prime, and full weight and height of adulthood - and yet he was once again an infant. Shaking with exhaustion, slicked with a sludge that could either be from his reanimation or simply a reagent of the dank cold and dark in which he dwelt, the man huddled pathetically, hugging himself to ward off all sensation.
